    • Academic Advisor, TRIO Educational Talent Search (August Start Date)

      Position Summary:

      To deliver student service, plan and supervise field trips, parent workshops, mentoring, and other activities with general guidance and supervision.  In addition, this position documents services and maintains public relations.

       

      This position will spend 4 days per week at 2-3 middle and high schools located in St. Paul/Minneapolis.  One day per week during the school year and planning days during August and May are spent on the St. Olaf Campus. 

       

      Salary is approximately $31,000 for a position from mid-August to mid-June.  Hours are Monday-Friday, full time, day hours (8 hours/day between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., hours vary depending on school location).  Occasional weekends and evenings are required.

       

      Continuation of this position is contingent on annual renewal of funding from the Department of Education.

       

      Start date is mid-August.

    • Assistant Director for Sports Information and Marketing

      Position Summary:

      To generate sports information or web content for 10 of the college's 27 intercollegiate sports, which includes: compilations of statistics and records, profiles of student-athletes, game/competition summaries, photography, feature video and news items; to coordinate the efforts of student assistants who generate or update this information and ensure the quality of their work; and to participate in league and association meetings, and will take responsibility for the success of several special/postseason events.

       

      This is an entry-level, administrative, 2-year internship which is grant-funded and goes from mid-August 2018 through mid-June 2020.  Funding for this position is based upon NCAA resources dedicated to ethnic minorities and women.

    • Residence Life Area Coordinator

      Position Summary:

      To oversee the day-to-day functions of two residence halls, including supervising the student staff, advising the student volunteers and supporting the students living in the halls.

       

      Area Coordinators supervise a student staff combination of a Student Hall Coordinator, Resident Assistants, and Junior Counselors.  Student Hall Coordinators have added responsibilities in addition to being a student staff member.  Resident Assistants work with upper-class students and Junior Counselors work with first-year students.   The Student Hall Coordinator lives in the hall in which the Area Coordinator does not live in.

       

      Approximately 2,800 students live in the eleven coeducational residence halls and twenty honor houses on campus.  Some halls house all first-year students, some all upper-class students, and some a mixture of both. The composition of each hall’s residence life staff is unique.

       

      Remuneration for the 2018-19 academic year includes a competitive salary, furnished apartment, utilities for the year, and additional monies for meals on campus. The College also provides a comprehensive benefit package for employees.  After one semester of employment, St. Olaf tuition benefits are available.

    • Summer Teachers - Science, Math & English

      Position Summary:

      The St. Olaf TRIO Upward Bound program is looking to hire Summer Lead Instructors for the subjects of science, math and English.  This position will be teaching high school students who will be residing on campus this summer.

       

      Program dates:  6/13/2018 - 7/24/2018

       

      Hours:  Monday through Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Friday 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; 4 evenings will be required

    • Temporary Boiler Operating Engineer

      Position Summary:

      This is a temporary, on-call position.  The number of hours worked each week will vary and not every week is guaranteed hours; there are 4 temporary, relief operating engineers who average 22 hours per week between them.  The shifts include:  days, nights, weekends and holidays.

      The Relief Operating Engineer reports to the Chief Operating Engineer but works independently, operates high-pressure steam plant and centrifugal chillers and related equipment according to the laws of the State of Minnesota and standard boiler operating practices. The position responds to alarms and emergencies, reports equipment failure and changes in machinery status and conducts required inspections with documentation to ensure continuous operation for the entire college campus.

    • Temporary Study Abroad Associate

      Position Summary:

      To manage all aspects of outbound visa acquisition for U.S. and international citizens when traveling on College programs abroad; and to support faculty leading Interim programs off-campus.

       

      This is a temporary position, 20 hours per week, beginning as soon as possible and potentially going through 8/31/18.
