Nursing Laboratory Facilitator

About the Role: 

 

Are you looking for an opportunity to practice nursing in its ideal form as part of a dynamic team that is passionate about educating the future generation of nurses? The Nursing Department at St. Olaf College seeks a part-time Lab Facilitator. In this role you will work primarily with beginning level nursing students teaching them foundational skills essential to nursing practice.

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

You will work collaboratively with faculty to integrate student learning outcomes in an active learning environment.

 

  • Coordinate lab set-up with nursing faculty and teaching assistants
  • Role model safe and effective clinical practice utilizing current evidence-based practice
  • Evaluate student performance in competency exams
  • Supervise administration of influenza immunization to the St. Olaf community

 

Who You Are:

 

You’ll a great fit if you have:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of nursing experience

 

It will be helpful if you have:

  • A Master’s degree

 

Skills and attributes we’d like for you to have:

  • Skill in technical equipment used in the nursing lab (mid-fidelity mannikins, IV pumps, etc.)
  • Skill in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of evidence based-practice
  • Ability to communicate effectively and foster collaboration with students and faculty
  • Commitment to supporting, respecting, and embracing diverse backgrounds and values in order to foster an inclusive campus community
