Counselor / Psychologist
Counseling Center

About the Role:

 

Do you have a passion for college student mental health? Does the idea of working in a fast-paced clinical setting with a diverse and dedicated team excite you? If so, then we may be looking for you! 

 

This position is 40 hours per week during the academic year, from the beginning of September through the end of May, with 3 months off in the summer. You will be expected to take emergency calls when needed.

 

We are hiring one individual who meets the criteria for either the Psychologist or Counselor.

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

The primary role is providing individual, couples and group counseling, including crisis management. You will develop and implement education/prevention programming. Candidates with PhD or PsyD will have opportunities to provide clinical supervision.

 

Who You Are: 

 

The qualified candidate will have… 

A Master’s degree in clinical/counseling psychology, social work, or related clinical field; be currently licensed or license-eligible within a year; and have two years of post-graduate clinical experience

 

The strongly preferred candidate will have…

PhD or PsyD in counseling/clinical psychology; must be currently licensed as a psychologist in Minnesota or is licensed in home state as a psychologist and will obtain licensure as a psychologist in Minnesota within 6 months of hire; 3+ years of post-graduate clinical experience; 2+ years of post-graduate experience as a clinical supervisor

  • The ability to maintain high ethical and professional practice standards

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and strong interpersonal skills
  • A willingness and flexibility to explore and implement new delivery of care models

Shift: Work 40 hours/week between 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday-Friday, Counselor is expected to take emergency calls and participate in occasional evening/weekend activities.

Term: September 1 – May 31, with occasional exceptions. The work schedule corresponds to the academic calendar in that the Counselor will not be in the office during the student breaks and this will be the Counselor’s vacation time.
