About the Role: 

 

In the Admissions Office, you’ll be working alongside a dedicated team that is responsible for shaping the future of St. Olaf by recruiting talented and diverse students from around the country and the world to enroll at the college.  If you enjoy working with people, traveling, and thinking strategically, this could be the ideal job for you!

 

 

What You’ll Do: 

 

  • Lead information sessions for visiting prospective students and families
  • Conduct interviews with prospective students
  • Maintain highly personalized contact with prospective students from a recruitment territory
  • Represent St. Olaf College at college fairs and high school visits
  • Build relationships with high school counselors and community based organizations
  • Review applications and make admissions and scholarship recommendations
  • Actively engage in admissions committee to collaboratively make enrollment decisions

 

 

Who You Are: 

What you need:

  • Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree and 1+ year of collegiate or professional work experience (Admissions Officer) or 2+ years of professional work experience in higher education, admissions, or college admission counseling (Assistant Dean)
  • The ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule with some events taking place in the evenings or weekends, the ability to travel up to 25% of the work schedule, and a valid driver's license and also able to meet St. Olaf College’s driver authorization criteria

  • The ability to interact positively and professionally with students, families, and college counselors from a diversity of backgrounds
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • The ability to plan, organize, and implement multiple projects, seeing them through to successful completion
  • Strong intercultural competency and a commitment to building a strong and inclusive community
