Part-Time Norseman Band Conductor 2022-23
Music

The Department of Music at St. Olaf College invites applicants for a part-time (.26 FTE), one-year position beginning September 2022 at the level of Instructor or Assistant Professor, to serve as Conductor of the Norseman Band. Norseman Band is a 100-member symphonic band, serving both music majors and non-music majors.

We seek a dynamic conductor and educator with the following qualifications to lead this ensemble:

  • MM Conducting or MME Instrumental Music Education (DMA or PhD preferred)
  • Proven experience in conducting, or potential to successfully conduct, an undergraduate symphonic band
  • Record of excellence as a conductor
  • Commitment to undergraduate teaching.

The department is particularly interested in applicants who can and will advance the College’s goals for diversity equity and inclusion.
